Cascade Arrests Use County Offices
Cascade is the Valley County seat, home to 1,005 people in the 2020 census. Policing falls to the county. The city's law-enforcement page confirms that the Valley County Sheriff's Office provides police service. No municipal department exists here.
The sheriff and the Valley County Detention Center share the same address. It sits on Spring Street in Cascade. That overlap shapes how records work. A person in that jail may have been arrested in Cascade, elsewhere in Valley County, or placed there by the state. The facility itself is not a list of Cascade arrests.
Where Cascade Arrests Appear
Cascade publishes no daily bulletin, booking roster, photo page, or city blotter. The county sheriff site offers no verified same-day or multi-day feed either. Each official channel has a narrow job, and news coverage fills only part of the gap.
| Channel | Use | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Cascade law enforcement | Confirms VCSO city service | No city arrest list |
| Detention Center | Current local custody contact | No online roster or photo display |
| VCSO records | Written booking, report, or photo request | Release and fees depend on review |
| Idaho iCourt | Case and disposition search | Not live custody |
| Valley Lookout Cascade archive | Selected local reporting | Secondary and not exhaustive |
The official Cascade source is preserved in this capture.

The city page confirms county sheriff service. It is not evidence of a separate Cascade police roster.
Locate Someone Arrested in Cascade
No web roster means the fallback chain matters. Staff may know of a fresh booking before any record copy exists. A released person may be out of custody while sheriff and court files live on.
- Collect the full name, birth year if known, arrest date, location, and agency.
- Call the detention center at (208) 382-7168 for current local custody.
- Submit the VCSO written request for a report, booking record, or photograph.
- Use Idaho iCourt and the Valley County Court Clerk for filings and the final disposition.
- Use VINE for a supported release or transfer notification, not as a photo feed.
The Arrest Reports page explains why no multi-day blotter or archive exists. State custody is an Idaho Department of Correction question. Federal and immigration custody sit in their own systems. Note: A missing online name does not mean no Cascade arrest or booking ever occurred.
Request Cascade Arrest Records
The county form is the main written route, since VCSO serves Cascade. Name the exact item you want. It might be an incident report, booking record, release or transfer record, or booking photo when it is legally releasable. Give the full name. Add the approximate arrest date, the location, and any report or case number. Details speed things up.
Fees may apply, and the office can demand payment before producing copies. Submission is not receipt; weekends, holidays, and office hours all add delay. No Cascade fee schedule or fixed turnaround exists. Save your dates, request an itemized estimate, and ask which office actually holds the file.

The VCSO records-request page carries the live form. Inspection is not the same as a certified copy, and lawful redactions may apply.
Cascade Booking Has No Web Clock
Idaho Code §20-601 requires booking after arrest. That step includes a photo and fingerprints. It also anchors the path to a first appearance before a magistrate. It does not require any county photo website. Valley County publishes no roster, so there is no posting delay to check.
Never assume another jail vendor's update pattern applies to Cascade. No refresh hour, archive depth, or release roll-off rule exists to observe. The honest sequence is arrest, booking, custody or release, first appearance, then court disposition. Each stage has its own official source. The official detention page lists facility and contact details.

This is a facility and contact page, not a roster or arrest archive.
Cascade Arrest News Is Selective
Valley Lookout's Cascade archive collects selected government, court, and public-safety stories. Context, not a database. A story may lag the incident by weeks. It may also show an agency photo rather than a booking shot. A publication date is never an arrest date.
The big aggregators fall short here. Mugshots.com has a Valley County, Idaho page, but it is unofficial and possibly stale. RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, Busted Newspaper, and Mugshots.zone list no Valley County, Idaho section. Montana's Valley County is a different place entirely. Start official with VCSO for the incident and booking record. Detention staff covers current custody. Idaho courts settle the outcome.
Cascade Custody Versus Court Records
The center holds local county inmates, plus, per VCSO's 2024 report, some IDOC inmates from other counties. So a name in that jail is not automatically a Cascade arrest. Someone arrested in Cascade may also have been released or transferred and is simply no longer there.
- Arrest
- An officer takes a person into custody based on alleged conduct or legal process.
- Booking
- The intake record, photo, fingerprints, and related processing.
- Current custody
- The place holding the person now, if any.
- Disposition
- The later court result that resolves the charge.
Match names with more than one identifier. Compare dates, agency, facility, and case number. The detention line answers a custody question, and a court search answers a case question; neither does the other's job.
Verify Cascade Arrest Dates
The VCSO year-end report offers agency and facility totals. It is not a name-by-name feed. Detention bookings count events at the facility. Idaho State Police arrest statistics measure agency reporting. Adding those figures together tells you nothing about a booking. It cannot show whether a named person was booked in Valley County.
Labels matter just as much as the numbers. Incident, arrest, and intake each carry their own date. So do news publication, first appearance, and court filing, and each can fall on a different day. Keep the source date for every event. That habit helps you spot an old report recirculating as current. It also helps VCSO answer a narrow records request without digging through everything. Idaho VINE can send release or transfer notice once a participating record is found. Still, it does not promise instant data or settle the final charge.
Older arrest records may take a written request. Idaho State Archives handles historical county material, yet it is not a current-custody system. A retention schedule does not guarantee an entry stays searchable online.
